Attendees will learn how to guide clients through the application process for Social Security and Medicare, provide married couples with strategies to receive the maximum benefit as well as planning advice on when clients should begin to draw Social Security. You will be able to explain divorce issues to clients, how benefit amounts are determined, when clients qualify for benefits and survivors benefits. You will also be able to walk clients through various scenarios of how adjusting their earnings will affect their benefits. And you will be able to inform clients of most recent changes to Social Security. You will obtain a general knowledge of the reduction, taxability, categories and qualifications of benefits. You will be able to calculate benefits, as well as understand the effects of divorce and death on benefits.
